Welcome to the Locust Grove Elem. Art Studio Website!!
Here you will find pictures of current projects and news about all the Art being created in the Studio!
The fabulous "Grover" tile mural created by the whole school and our visiting Artist Marie Elena Ottman.
This is the rest of the mural. It is the "Rainbow" of paint drops coming from Grover's tail brush!
Each student in the Kindergarten- 5th grade and any staff that wanted to participate created a paint drop to be a part of our collaborative tile mural!
Locust Grove Artists have something new in the Art Studio this year! We are putting our Art work on a Virtual Art Gallery called Artsonia! If you have not given Mrs. Rushing permission to put your students work online, please fill out the form or go online to Artsonia.com! I will be posting our Art Journal covers soon!
The Art Studio wants your junk! We would love to have toilet tissue rolls, paper towel rolls, buttons, small stick, twigs, plastic lids, pringle type cans, styrofoam, any of the stuff you don't want- The Artists need it! There will be a box outside the Art room for collecting items!
One of our 1st grade Artist's, Jessie Wilkins, painted this wonderful Birdhouse over the summer! I always LOVE seeing what students create outside of the Art Studio! Thanks for sharing Jessie!
I have a mini art gallery on my nails!
So, I decided it would be fun to have some of the elements of art and principles of design on my finger nails! I have gotten a whole lot of comments and compliments!
Food can be Art!
Last week, Mr. Rushing brought in this cucumber to the house from our garden and said, "Hey, this looks like it has a nose!" Well, a couple of toothpicks and two cherry tomatoes later we had this little mouse like critter on our kitchen cabinet! What kind of food art can you create! Send in your pictures to the Mrs. Rushing's school email- [email protected] and I will put it here on our Art Studio Blog! Happy Creating! Happy healthy snacking!
I was so excited when a student walked in last week to the Art studio with the MOST fabulous socks! I have been looking everywhere for some that will fit me, but they only come in kid sizes! Shucks!!! My wonderful student will have to keep wearing for me! Thanks for Sharing!
